We want to create a space where all participants can feel welcome and safe and we can have a wonderful time together. To help us make that happen, here are some points we would like you to keep in mind when you join us. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Respect and Responsibility<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Respect your own and other people\u2019s physical and emotional boundaries and wishes. Take responsibility for making transparent where your preferences and limits lie. Dancing together is not an invitation for unwanted physical intimacy, on or off the dance floor. <\/p>\n

Take responsibility for your actions, and be aware of how they affect your dance partners and others around you. Taking care of yourself and others includes maintaining personal hygiene, avoiding strong odours (artificial and natural), staying home when ill, and knowing your limits concerning alcohol and other substance use. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Openness and Care<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Show respect and tolerance for other people\u2019s opinions, beliefs, and ways of being. We see dancing as an invitation to openness and generosity, and invite you to ask everybody for a dance. Still, it\u2019s okay to say \u201cno\u201d to any interaction for any reason. <\/p>\n

Dance roles are not tied to gender identities and expressions. It is polite to check in with your partner about their preferred role before dancing. Be gentle with your partner\u2019s body and be mindful of those around you while dancing. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Cultural appreciation<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In Fusion, we are borrowing influences from many places, and we do our best to practise cultural appreciation for these origins. This means educating yourself on the cultures that the dance styles, music, fashion you use come from, and trying to avoid using influences not suitable for taking inspiration from. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

If you experience or witness any behaviour that crosses your boundaries or makes you feel uncomfortable please approach the organisers. If it seems like someone is in need of help or might be feeling left out: see if you can reach out to them in some way, possibly with the assistance of a team member. <\/p>\n
